Le Bistrot Français strives to do everything right and it shows. Each room is custom decorated, respecting the French elegance codes. The imposing bar at the entrance, antique furniture and paintings, small table lamps, discreet but warm service create a welcoming bourgeois atmosphere. The menu is just as impressive, featuring high quality ingredients – lobster from Brittany, organic Scottish salmon, Wagyu beef. The Corrèze veal with morel mushrooms, asparagus and a white wine sauce is tender and perfectly balanced. Make sure you also try the Perfect egg with Transylvanian truffle, foie gras, Comté and brioche."

Located in Bucharest’s most elegant area, near the Romanian Athenaeum, in a beautiful XIXth century villa, former residence of French architect Albert Galleron, the property is embellished by a charming art collection, which brings together Romania’s top classical painters, such as Nicolae Tonitza, Rudolf-Schweitzer Cumpana, Eustatiu Stoenescu, Arthur Verona, Ipolit Strambu.


The property’s wine cellar is available to guests, who may visit it and choose from a selection of over 900 labels. Local varieties and blends, wines from the New and World Worlds may be enjoyed at our bistro. Either you want a Romanian, organic wine, with no sulfites, an Italian icon, a classical Bordeaux or an American reference, our sommeliers will help you choose the perfect drink to pair with your choice of food. Working with a wine list of over 900 labels does have its benefits, especially when you are so passionate about the field, as I am. In my years of worldwide experience, I have seen how the right choice of wine makes guests appreciate gastronomy even more and turns a meal into a memorable occasion. This is why I enjoy surprising guests with certain certain labels from their favorite producers, with years that are more difficult to find, but I also take significant pleasure in introducing them to new wine areas and sharing lesser known grapes and wines with them.
